Synopsis: Jack is a former jeweler who now lives in a retirement home with Blanche, Flora, and Rose. The four have entrusted Barney, a smooth-talking financial advisor, with their life savings. But when Barney is arrested for his involvement in a Ponzi scheme, the four try to find a way to exact their revenge and recoup their losses.
Performances Dates: June 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21 (Th/F/Sat @ 8pm; Sun @ 2pm). Please note any conflicts you may have on the Audition sheet.
Director Mary Ann Wylie (email@example.com ) is looking for the following 4 females/3-5 males (ages 30s+).
-Jack Newman: (60s+) A successful businessman, former jeweler and late-night TV pitchman, physically spry, still very much engaged in life.
-Rose: (60s+) An independent, feisty old bird, a real technophile.
-Blanche: (60s+) A fading beauty, suffers from narcolepsy.
-Flora: (60s+) Grandmotherly type, always cheerful, very talented at making jewelry, has memory issues.
-Nurse Harper: (30s+) Career nurse, lonely, unappreciated, bored, and frustrated.
-Barney Effward: (30s+) Charming con man. A Bernie Madoff type.
***The following characters may be played by the same actor***
-Mortimer: (30s+) Uptight, hypochondriac lawyer.
-Wilf Gunnarson: (60s+) Almost completely deaf but totally with it.
-Policeman: (30s+) Straight-laced, humorless, a real by-the-book type.
The Playmasters is an all-volunteer community theatre. All roles are unpaid.
